Earlier this month, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced it will change its name to “Scouting America” to demonstrate its continued commitment to “inclusivity.” This is part of a broader trend of widening membership: BSA first allowed openly gay members in 2013, and openly gay adult leaders two years later.
