

Alex Trembath is a contributor to Dispatch Energy and the deputy director of the Breakthrough Institute, an ecomodernist think tank advancing technological solutions to environmental problems. His work on climate politics, energy technologies, food and agriculture, and other environmental issues has been published by the The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, Slate, Politico, Bloomberg, Persuasion, City Journal, Issues in Science and Technology, and other major outlets. He is the co-editor of the book The Rightful Place of Science: Climate Pragmatism, and has served as a fellow and advisor to the Abundance Institute, YIMBY Action, Case Studies in the Environment, and the Roots of Progress Institute. Alex also launched and helps organize the annual Abundance conference in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and lives in Oakland, California, with his wife and son.
