Dear Dispatch readers,
Thank you to everyone who participated in our latest Monthly Mailbag with Zachary Shemtob, the executive editor of SCOTUSblog. To read about his thoughts on the “emergency docket,” criminal defense lawyers, horror movies, and Drag Queen Story Hour, click here.
This month, social media manager Justin Colman has raised his hand to take on your questions.
Justin joined The Dispatch in May 2025. Before joining our skiff, he worked as a social media manager for Barstool Sports. When Justin is not executing social media strategies and crafting engaging content, he is probably hanging out with family and friends, watching Washington D.C. sports, or working out at the gym.
As you’re thinking about questions you have for Justin, here are some suggested topics:
- What it was like making the leap from being a social media manager at Barstool Sports to being a social media manager at The Dispatch;
- How he managed to outscore Steve Hayes’ team in The Dispatch’s fantasy football league by more than 50 points and what it’s like having the best team in the league (at least at the time of writing);
- Why central Jersey actually exists and how pizza/bagels in New Jersey are far superior to New York;
- Shifting from studying criminal justice in college to becoming a social media manager;
- His experience as a volunteer firefighter during his senior year of high school and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic;
- How he plans to expand The Dispatch’s online presence in the coming months; and
- Why Washington, D.C., is the No. 1 college town of all time.
Drop your questions for Justin in the comments section on this post, and keep an eye out for an email with all of his answers at the end of the month!
