Prior to joining The Dispatch in February of this year, Peter worked on a variety of podcasts, including 10% Happier, Skimm This, 9 to 5ish, and Proof. He most recently served in the Vox Creative arm of Vox Media. Before podcasting, Peter worked as both a live and studio sound engineer—handling everything from large biopharma conferences and music festivals to hip-hop records and Broadway’s Carols for a Cure Christmas album.

Hailing from the Nutmeg State (Connecticut), Peter attended D.C.’s own American University, where he obtained a bachelor’s and master’s in audio production (and a minor in Mandarin). He moved to NYC shortly thereafter, where he remained for six long years until a spontaneous trip to Spain went completely off the rails. Peter is now happily betrothed to a lovely German woman and living in Valencia, Spain, awaiting imminent nuptials and next steps (Florida?).

As you’re thinking of questions for Peter, here are some topic suggestions:

  • Living in Spain (and missing America);
  • Anything related to audio/video/music;
  • The frustrations and joys of being a second-rate polyglot;
  • Historical fiction (or just history in general);
  • Hard lessons learned from a novice gardener; and
  • Scuba diving.

Drop your questions for Peter in the comments section on this post, and keep an eye out for an email with all of his answers at the end of the month!

Peter Bonaventure is the Video & Podcast editor for The Dispatch based in Connecticut. Prior to joining the company in 2026, he worked as an audio editor, mixer, and sound designer for 10% Happier with Dan Harris, SkimmThis, and Vox Media. When Peter isn’t editing and mixing podcasts and videos for the Dispatch, he enjoys writing and producing music, reading annual reports, and overwatering his tomato plants.
