Dear Dispatch readers,

Thank you to everyone who participated in our latest Monthly Mailbag with TMD editor Ross Anderson. To read about his life before TMD, his takes on fitness and fashion, and his beloved cat, be sure to click here.

This month, visuals editor Noah Hickey has raised his hand to answer your questions. Noah is based in Largo, Florida, and prior to joining the company in 2024, he interned at The Dispatch, worked as a musician, and attended Polk State College in Lakeland, Florida. When Noah is not curating photographs and creating illustrations to accompany Dispatch work, he is probably playing slide on his American Ultra Luxe Telecaster and writing music for his band, Foxhall. Noah also assists the multimedia team with podcast production.

As you’re thinking about questions you have for Noah, here are some suggested topics:

  • What brought him to The Dispatch;
  • His journey from an intern to the visuals editor;
  • Why he thinks John Mayer is a better guitarist than Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix*;
  • What non-Dispatch podcasts are worth your time and make for a good distraction from the news;
  • His process for creating illustrations for The Dispatch;
  • What parts of podcasting production most listeners would never notice—but would notice if they weren’t done well;
  • The best Beatles album; and
  • The value of community college.

Drop your questions for Noah in the comments section on this post, and keep an eye out for an email with all of his answers at the end of the month!

Correction, March 1, 2026: This post was updated to correct the spelling of Jimi Hendrix’s name.
