Young Israel—an Orthodox Jewish synagogue in Willowbrook, Staten Island—has stood since 1966. Though not Orthodox myself, I attended Hebrew School at Young Israel, and weekend retreats where Rabbi Marcus still presided over “Stump the Rabbi” sessions.
