Incubators exist for tech and business. Why not for the arts?

Earlier this week, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, originally expected to open in 2023, announced another delay until 2026 and confirmed it had already cut a significant portion of its full-time team. Likewise, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art recently laid off 29 staff amid a projected $5 million deficit.

Fisher Derderian is the founder and executive director of the Roger Scruton Legacy Foundation. He also serves as the senior advisor to the president at the National Civic Art Society and as vice chair of the City of Costa Mesa Arts Commission.
