Will AI Be the Death of Human Agency?

Agentic AI is having a moment. Claude Code broke into the mainstream in January, and in February, a speculative essay about the potential of agentic coding tools helped trigger a brief stock market sell-off. By March, OpenAI had publicly recognized the need to monitor internal coding agents for undesirable behavior.
